Terenure College RFC to hold testimonial dinner in honour of Rala
Terenure’s Paddy “RALA” O’Reilly has been the Irish Rugby Squad Bag man for nearly 25 years.
After the recent Rugby World Cup Rala hung up his Irish Boots and announced his retirement.
Terenure College RFC are delighted to announce a Gala Dinner to honour Rala on his retirement from the IRFU on 23rd April in Lakelands.
Rala became an ever present in Irish teams from his appointment in 1994. His open-door policy forged close relationships with many Irish players and coaches, as well as with members of two Lions tours. His room became an escape from camp life for the players, and Rala himself became the subject of many a prank! Former Irish Captain Paul O’Connell said that ‘Rala has a gift for making people feel at ease and special at the same time’
Special guests on the night include Joe Schmidt, Paul O’Connell, Sir Ian McGeechan, Jason Leonard + many past and present Irish Rugby Internationals. Risteard Cooper will MC.the event
