Operation Transformation
Monday and Fridays 7:30pm from 11th January
2016 sees the Terenure College Parent’s Association launch Operation Transformation for the first time.
A key driver for this has been the recent presentation by Prof. Donal O’Shea on the topic of childhood obesity and the importance of healthy lifestyle and eating.
Along with being a past pupil of the school, Prof. O’Shea is also a key medical advisor to the RTE programme so the parents association thought it would be important to try and put in practice some of the elements he spoke to us about in the school.
Operation Transformation kicks off with the first National walks on Saturday the 9th at 10am, with our local one being in Tymon Park. Following this there will be walks each Monday and Friday evening at 7:30pm, starting and finishing in the school grounds. These walks are designed to allow everyone be able to take part and choose a route of their choice. With this in mind, three walks have been mapped out, with distances of 2km, 3km and 5km. All have been planned to minimise road crossings.
All parents are welcome to join, and feel free to bring along friends.
